I was looking at my panther chameleon and I noticed her eyes look funny it was red where the white should be I moved my finger around and she seem to follow it with the eye so I'm not sure any ideas
Pictures would be helpful to see what you are talkiing about. If it is gone, then it was nothing. There is like reddish or pink in the eye when they roll their eyeball around if that is what you are talking about
I will get a pic in the morning but no it is bright red she is not closing it or not like that but I just noticed that it looked red and thought it looked weird
Oh no, that is not normal. It almost looks like blood. Maybe she poked it and injured it?. The whites of our eyes turn red when injured, but i don't know if Chameleons are the same or not. I would keep an eye on it closely and if does not improve on its own, have a vet check her out.
I hope she will be ok. If it does not go away and you find out what it is, let us know. Something else to learn! You could always pm Ferretinmyshoes...she is a vet on here and have her take a look at it. She might see your thread, but she might not. If you pm her she should get if for sure. She is very nice and helpful to everyone.
Just wanted to let everyone know that my girls eye is doing great thanks to ferretinmyshoes for the inconvenience and in case someone else has this problem I I'm guessing that it was a infection so I washed it out with saline for a few days and it when away so thanks again to everyone
I am glad your girl is doing fine! I don't see how saline could cure an infection though. Maybe there was something in there that was causing irritation and you washed it out with the saline. In any case, she is better and that is all that matters!
