A quick question...

Not very well if at all. If there is a partial bowel obstruction the cham may be able to pass some urates but not feces. A complete obstruction wouldn't permit anything to pass it.

THANK YOU!! I think you may have just nailed my little girl's problem on the head! She's been gaining weight steadily (I weigh her every day!) and she's gotten quite chubby in the last 2 weeks so I figured she was getting ready to lay her 2nd clutch of eggs but I put her in my male veiled's cage and damn if she wasn't receptive, which means she's not gravid! She's going on 5 days with very minimal food, and little water (been hydrating her by syringe) and normally she has HUGE poops but they have been very, very small (last week) or non-existant (this week) and her urates (also usually very large) have been very, very small and not so 'liquidy'. I've been taking notes and watching, not too concerned YET, but I think a trip to the vet is in order now, as I need answers for the weight gain. Fingers crossed this is the problem and it can be fixed. Thanks again!
