Well everyday i wake up and my chameleon always wants out, his cage is massive with lots of branches and vines but he always wants out to sit on my head, if i dont take him out he will start scraping the glass with his claws, i always feel bad when i dont take him out because he will sit there all day waiting to be held.

Im wondering if i take him out and put him on my bed and let him run about will he be fine? I also found some sticks outside so im thinking of making a little play area for him, how will i make sure the sticks are safe?

Thanks.

Alright if he really wants to come out, I would try taking him outside whenever you can in the sun, maybe even purchase an outdoor plant for him to sit and bask on while you are in a chair next to him watching. Letting go around on your bed is fine but it will be better for him to go outside when you take him out so he gets some natural UVB from it.

As far as the sticks go this is what I do.
1. I peel all the sticks of their bark and the layer underneath the bark to be sure that nothing will be kept in with the wood. If the bark stays on there it usually rots pretty quickly.
2. Then afterwards (I use this method to success but there are other methods that will work) I boil about two large pots of water and place my sticks in the sink and then put the boiling water in with them and let them soak for about a half hour. Every time I take them out though the water is still very hot so you know it killed almost all of the bacteria. T
3. I let the sticks sit and dry for almost a week.

Hope this helps!

How big is your cage for him?for his age? Is it above your head? Chams like to be as high up as they can be
If he's scratching to come out I would buy a hibiscus, schflerra, or ficus tree to take him out outside in for some sun rays if the conditions are right. This is a good opportunity to clean the cage and the natural sunlight is always better.
Also an indoor free range would be a good thing too.

That's what I was thinking. The cham is always looking to climb up. On someones's head, a cham can be high up, plus stay nice and warm ;)
