hi i need some advice. i have a 1yr old male panther cham Ive noticed recently his skin especially on top of his head looks dry could this be due to him needing to shed soon ? i cant remember exactly when he last shed but it seems quite a long time ago.

he is a year old now but i dont think he has grown a huge amount in the last couple of months his weight has stayed around 100g for a few months is this normal as i know ther growth does shlow down. His eyes are nice and round and not suken eyes and the skin goes back when gently pinched so i dont think he is dehydrated. I mist him twice a day and he has a dripper running all day. i have seen him drinking when i mist. ive given him showers every so often as well and wondering if it would be worth doing this more regualry at the moment?

Although he has been being fussy the last couple of months with food and was only eating supers so i cut them out to get him to eat other feeders and he went on hunger strike for a few weeks. Im just a bit worried he isnt growing enough for his age especially due to him hunger striking recently. how often should they be fed at this age

If he's only 100 grams I would still feed him everyday. Sounds like the dry skin on the head may be a sign that he's going to shed.

Thanks for your reply i was feeding him everyday at about 8 months but he food intake started to slow down and he wasnt eating all the feeders. i was recommended to try feeding him every other day as they slow down their feeding as the growth slows. ive tried re introducing feeding him every day but he seems only to eat every other day sometimes every 2nd day and i end up taking the food out.

hopefully he will shed soon then would regular showers help ?

On the days that he will eat give him all that he wants and I'd give him some fatty worms for a while. Have you had a fecal? Sometimes parasites will cause them not to eat and be thin.

I never shower my guys. I just give extra long and very warm mistings.

ive brought some silk worms and trying them today have to see if he has eaten any when i get home ive also got supers could try them again but dont want him getting fussy again. No i havent recently going to get one done though when he next poops.
