Here's mumble during and after a lukewarm shower. He loves to bathe.

Great looking bird! I've wanted a sun conure for quite a few years now, but I am swamped with my other animals, and am a bit uneasy with birds yet. He's really nice tho. How hard is he to take care of?

I have always wanted a sun conure. And i wanted to name him Sunny D.

I did however have a Green conure at one time. and he was like my bestest of friends.. He had such an amazing personality.

In the future threads like this one should go under other reptiles and pets.
He is beautiful!
I had a pair if WC Patagonian Conures in the late 80's. I was breeding Cockatiels and English Budgies at the time and bought this pair for a breeding project.
They never did breed for me and I ended up selling them.
I think Conures are beautiful birds.

Actually pretty easy, needs conure food (NOT "bird seeds") and fresh water daily. Cover him at night, toys. Can't have a cold house. He loves to bathe at least once a week.

Hand fed (basically means fed by humans after hatching instead of momma bird) are 100% hands on pets. He's smart and definitely loves me and my girlfriend. He basically thinks he's a person and is part of our flock.

If you get an intelligent bird (like a parrot or conure) it's 100% important that you spend time with them every day, but usually more. When bird don't get proper attention they can go crazy. Mumbe gets at least an hour of playtime, sometimes he hangs out with my while I'm on the computer. He also will ride around on my shoulder while I do things around the house and watch. He's super happy when I get home from work every day and greets me with some squawks.

We have taught him a few words "Come Here" or "Commere!" and "Step up".

Mumble is my first bird. He will probably live for between 20 and 30 years.

His personality is like a toddler. He loves to play.

We trained him to "go poop" on command with positive re-enforcement. Basically when you are playing with him you need to either set him in his cage or on his play perch and say "go poop!" a few times. After he does it it's important to say "Good Job!" in a happy voice. If I have learned one thing about training birds it has been that they respond well to positive re-enforcement and poorly to negative stuff.

Our first attempt to potty train was by saying "you pooped!" and putting him into his cage if he had an accident, this didn't work well and actually made him quite cranky.

We did a bit of reading on the internet and found that by rewarding him after pooping with treats and saying "good job" basically trained him to poop as a trick. It worked 100% better and he never has mistakes now unless you forget to sit him in his cage.

I'll probably make a video that shows his personality a bit better.
