Yes, they have a "skirt" of fringe outlining their entire body. It lays flat on the bark when they rest on a tree trunk, and eliminates any outline shadowing.

Awesome Gex! I call them 'lichen' geckos. Whats their species name?
We have similar ones here, fantastic Camo. :)

Another amazing Gecko. One day I'll have a nice little harem of those. Keep me in mind when they produce for you :)

I've read the evolutionary reason for that 'fringe' is to break up their outline on a tree, as birds have exceptional depth perception and would be able to pick out anything with a shadow or outline. This is similar to frilled dragons, when they are on a tree they kind of loosen up their frill to break up their outline/shadow.

Nice geckos!

Brock, you are correct. And man do they do this very well.

Oh, Sandy, now I REALLY can't wait to come see your place in October!! :D

Which u. sikorae do you have? Sikorae Simetti (sp?) or Sikorae Sikorae? U. S. Simetti have blue tongues and are a little harder to breed than the U. S. Sikorae which have pink tongues. You guys are really going to love your uros!
