Both are gorgeous boys. I hope Bert will sweeten up for you. Keep working with him. Veileds are territorial and can become cage aggressive. Are you able to free range him any?

Thanks Jann.

Sometimes he can be quite sweet. Other times he is a grump, it really does vary on the side of bed he gets out of. For a Veiled I dont think he is that bad, I've seen some really nasty ones.

He does come out for a free-range and enjoys it until you try and touch him! His attitude adds to his character though in my opinion.

He cracks me up when he sits on my hand and tries to bite it as if to say "put me down". He never hurts me though, I think its just a gentle nibble to get his message across.

They are both wonderful but Ernie is something else, bless him! What a gorgeous boy! :D We have been having some lovely weather here in the UK this last few days, haven't we?! I have started taking Monty out for a while to sit in the mulberry tree that I have on the decking. Trouble is with him still being so small it doesn't take long for him to get too warm!

Thanks Tiff. The weather is beautiful, same again for tomorrow I believe :) Makes a change from the usual rain we get here in Manchester. I just hope we get a real summer this year. We live in an apartment (no garden) so its hard to get the chams out when the weather is nice. But we do our best.

Will you be using the mulberry tree to feed your silkworms?

I used a few of the leaves last year, but the tree is only small still and is yet to spring back to life this year. It has plenty of buds on it though so I might feed a few silkies on the leaves. It spent the winter inside the shed so the frost wouldn't kill it! The eggs have still got another 3 weeks or so in the fridge yet so Monty will have to be patient for a while longer! He has discovered a love for Dubias for now though. :D
