ok guys im getting a 4 to 5 month old male veiled cham in a few weeks. this is what i have setup so far.

cage, is a custom cage i built, 36 inchs tall, 24 inchs wide, and 17 inchs deep. i was told its a little big for him but i will be cup feeding so he sould be fine.
lighting, i will have a 5.0 UVB floresent tube for UVB, and a 60 watt type A bulb in a dome.
cage decore, i have a large pothos, and a unbrella plant. i also have lots of baboo sticks that i will be putting all over the cage for climbing. also lots of fake plants.
humidity, he will have a constant dripper and will be misted 5 to 8 times a day.
food, he will be getting mostly B dubia roachs with some crikets mixed in. they wil be gut loaded.
dusting, he wil get normal cal everyother feeding, cal with d3 twice a month,, and vit twice a month.

questions. do i need to get another bulb just for the plants or will the UVB bulb be enough? im getting him from tikitiki reptiles. does everything seem ok with how i will be caring for him? thanks

You do need another light for healthy plant life. A 6500k will go with your uvb light and you can find a dual fixture to hold both bulbs. I would recommend 2-3 mistings a day for a good 5-10 mins each.

Nicely done!! You probably have it (just didn't mention it) don't forget your temp/humidity gauge. I set up my cages just like you have, and put the gauge in and test everything. You may not need a 60w bulb. Better to check things out first so your little one is safe. Over heating and burns are not fun to deal with. Use the search here for more options for gutloading your insects. I think your dusting schedule looks perfect. When you dust, dust lightly. The feeders shouldn't be ghost-like. Over supplementing can cause health related issues down the road. Good luck. We'll be waiting for pictures!!:D

I am new at this to i currently have a 6 month old veiled that I bought at the reptile show in san diego. i hav one of the pakeges that the place was selling. I am just about finished building a cage and set up i was wondering how it is. I have one 75 wat basking bulb that gets it up to bout 95 3 to 5 inches under the bulb depending on the day. The new cage is 2'widex2'deepx5' tall. I just need to get some plants. i was gunna put in a 1foot tall ficus if i cant find a bigger one ive been lookin every where i cany find aplace that has bigger pesticide free ficus trees. But then i was gunna hand a pathos from the top and put sticks and different foliage on the screen. wats the best supplementing for the veiled? i also have slats on the bottom to allow the water to go hrough and into a ben for when the mister goes on. Im going to get a habba mister.
