A couple questions

Hi everyone I have some questions about basic cage set up. I have a female veiled that another member here thinks is about 9 months. I got her from a Petco so I have no clue how old she is. Right now she is in a 16"x16"x30" screen cage. The back and 1 of the sides have some wax papers draped over the outside to keep the water off my bookshelf and the wall. She has a lot of vines and a live mini fig tree that she loves to nibble on. Her basking spot is around 87 (working n trying to get it to 85 but still playing with it a little) and then the rest of her cage drops to low 70s at the bottom.
I have been doing some research on laying bins and right now I don't have a whole lot of room in her cage for one. Can I use a substrate in the bottom of her cage instead of a lay box? right now she has a thin layer or coconut husk (because that's what the girl told me I needed when I got her.) But I was going to switch it out for some paper towels when I clean it this weekend. What do you guys recommend? Any advice is appreciated.

No substrate is best and instead of wax paper you can use a clear shower curtain

The lay box has to hold at least nine inches of soil (pesticide free soil playsand or a mixture not coconut substrate of anything in that category) so no you can't use substrate without it takeing up a fourth of the cage and spilling out the sides. Also I recommend putting a few more branches and a fake plant branch or something at the top front. She will greatly appreciate the privacy and new space.

I have a 75W infrared basking bulb and a 10.0 13W UVB day light bulb. Once a month the gets a multivitamin and every other day when she gets fed she get her crickets dusted with calcium without D3.

The multivitamin should be 2x a month and she needs calcium with D3 2x a month as well. Great job on using the calcium without D3 on every feeding. Also keep in mind that the UVB bulbs need to be replaced every 6 months even if they look like they're working. They may turn on but they lose uvb output
