Sorry it took me a while to repost. Been busy. I lost count. There are four 24x 24x 48" reptibreeze slammed full. All outside and the temps have been 82-89°f almost everyday. Only one or two days in the 90°'s. At first, it was only 61-66. Depending on which day (sold and traded some). If you have say 40 babies, you can expect to feed about 400-600 crix a day. I do like to also mix in the fruit flies, just to help the little ones keep up. First, i feed the larger crix, then the small, and then flies. The smaller babies will pass up what is too large, and it also keeps the larger ones from engulfing all the small crix. It can become very difficult to separate them, when you can't find all them. I was keeping exact records, however it quickly became apparent, that if you can't see them all, then monitoring ocd style is out of the question. There are about 40 babies in each 48" cage averaging 4-5" long (body is 2-2 1/2"). For anyone interested: my sire was sired by 'Newton' @ flchams. I am going to be selling them in 10-25 lots. Anyone interested, please pm me. I will give you my # or email. I paid $100 + s&h from flchams (premium veil) for my male. My females were hand picked from several local stores. All babies were born around 4/17-5/1/14. They are eating crix, 'gold' hydei, and hornedworms. No mealworms or superworms. I had no deformities or no deaths yet. I did have one late hatcher who is still kinda itsie bitsie, but no other health issues. They have all been outside for one month with NO live plants, all fake. I was hoping to sell for $20 each, however it quickly became apparent, it is a buyers market. I have completely stocked all local stores and wholesalers. I don't think they even enjoy me coming thru the door anymore, as i have too many veils and some blue bar holdbacks to unload. Anyone interested please pm me, it makes me nervous with a small islamic army on my deck. Estimate there is about 160 veils available. Currently, the quantity of chams to cage is still good.
