5.0 linear bulbs expiration date.

Hi guys, I accidentally bought 2 linear UVB bulbs, I know they only last about 6 months when in use, my question is, before they have been opened, can I keep one for 6 months then use it when the other one has been running for 6 months?

I think you can but don’t take me fir granted.

I think you can as long as it isn’t in use...having a solar meter will help tremendously in that dept.

Are these T5s or T8s? T8s have a life of around 6 mo., but T5s last about a year.

Keeping an extra or 2 shouldn't be a problem. I have 2 spares (T5) right now.
If you do happen to have a Solarmeter, it's a good idea to open them and test them ASAP to make sure they're not defective. Returning a defective bulb at a later date might be problematic.
