Hi guys! I'm new here, but I have some concern I'd like to express. I have a 4 month old female veiled named Chamrock who seems to be having issues with her left eye. It's just the left one, but she always keeps it slightly closed, not perfectly round. Occasionally, she will keep it completely closed and just leave one eye open.
I was worried her UVB light was too intense for her, so I went from a 100w to a 75w, but the temperature in her cage dropped too much so I moved her bulb back up to 100w. Her lights stay about a foot away from the top of her cage.
Her terrarium is a mesh screen 1ft x 2.5ft cage. She has a constant water drip that goes from the top of her hibiscus tree to the bottom of it, along with orchid, aloe, and a small plastic plant in the top corner where she sometimes sleeps. I mist her cage at least three times daily.
I feed her waxworms, crickets, mealworms, hornworms, lettuce, hibiscus leaves, grapes, strawberries, and banana. I dust her insects every other day in calcium and give her D3 and Vitamins on the 15th of every month.
She moves around a lot, has plenty of color, sleeps only at night, and is always willing to eat. I am just really concerned for her eye. I have a check-up at the vet scheduled for the 2nd of December.
Any feedback on her eye? Or any other changes I should make to help her out?
