My 4 month old Veiled Chameleon still looks like a hatchling. He is very healthy and active. He also really loves to eat crickets. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a Chameleon that does not grow as quickly as others in the first few months?

Areyou sure on his age?

Can you post photos of him please?

How much does he eat?

What supplements do you use?

What is the basking temp?

Yes I am sure of his age give or take one or two weeks.

He usually eats about 15-20 2 week old crickets a day

And I give hime calcium with d3 3 times a week and plain calcium twice a week. I also give him a multivitamin once a month.

His basking temperature is between 87 and 94.

It could be because you aren't supplementing properly.

You should be doing d3 twice a month.
and the calcium with no d3 every feeding.
the multi is also twice a month.

let him eat as much as he wants for now.

and your basking temp should never be over 85 for a baby.

Where did you get him from? And how long have you had him? I ask because sometimes pet stores get 2-3 week old babies and sell them as 2-3 month olds usually because they don't know any differently or don't care.

I bought my little guy from Underground Reptiles and they gave him to me when he was about 3 weeks old and I have had him for about three months now. The guys who worked at the store seemed like they knew a lot about reptiles and when I bought him they told me to supplement him with D3 every feeding! I knew this was a bit much but I don't see how this could effect his growth this much. As far as feeding I always give Reptar as much food as he can possibly eat. I am still wondering what could have stunted his growth he is very active and always has a full belly. Could this major growth stunt all be the cause of temperature and supplementation?
