This last week my yellow/orange female deremensis turned a very light green color. I placed the male that I wanted her to mate with in her cage. They are never very aggressive torward each other but this time she was even less bothered by him. I could tell she was definety receptive. I kept them together for almost a week. I watched them several times during the week but the male did not show much interest. They could have mated but I did not witness any behavior to suggest that they did. Today, to see what would happen, I placed my other male in the cage with them. I left the front open, with a branch leading out of the cage, so they were not trapped together. They swelled up and got in a threat posture. The newly introduced male within about 5-10 minutes ran out of the cage. Very shortly after the male mounted the female. The mated for almost 1/2 hr.
If the mating was successful, I will hopefully have two unrelated clutches about a month apart from each other.
