24" bulb across a 36" cage?

high there, my mv bulb burnt out today and since im in an apartment i wanna go linear instead(mv was making my room hot).

anyways, the cage is 36"x24"x48" and wanna know if a 24" bulb(36" fixture) will be ok for that cage, i would go 36" bulb but the fixture would overhang the cage way too much.

i use a 24" bulb on my 24"x24"x48" cage for my female and works great.

just wanna be sure thanks.

It should be fine, just make sure the basking point is within range of the uvb light and you should have any exposure problems.
