2009 Chameleon Calendar

This will be our first calendar! I'm hoping it will be a great success and the beginning of a new tradition here at Chameleon Forums.

Rules

1. Only two entries per member.
2. Anything less than 2300x1800 at 200dpi will not be considered.
3. Landscape orientation. Maximum resolution. No Humans.
4. Please do not resize or crop your images.
5. All rules and legal terms from the photo contest apply.

Info
Each monthly photo will include text identifying the species. Some combination of name, username/company, and time since registration will also be included. There will be 13 photos chosen for the calendar. The process of elimination is still being discussed and will partially depend on the number of entries received. The community, at a minimum, will vote to determine the calendar cover. The top three entries from this vote will receive a free calendar. All proceeds originating from calendar sales will go towards the cost of maintaining the Chameleon Forums.


How to Enter
Please note the size and resolution requirements above. Entries will be large files. You can email them to the address below as an attachment. You can also pm or email me a link to the file.

Note
We are looking for natural looking high quality photos. Veileds and panthers will probably be in the calendar a couple times due to their captive populations. Keep in mind the calendar will try to show a variety of species. This means the more unique the species you enter, the better chance you have of seeing that entry in the calendar. If needed some previous photo contest entries that meet the requirements will be used. The rules and information listed here may change before the calendar is printed.

Sometimes photo quality is reduced when an image is saved after being resized or cropped. Because this is a calendar I'm trying to avoid visual artifacts. Another reason is that I would like a little flexibility when considering the placement of name, username, species, etc on the photo. All that being said, I'm pretty lenient on that requirement.

That is a great pic! Unfortunately, I don't have the rights to use it in the calendar; it was not a photo contest pic. It is also too small for a full size calendar. The member has not logged in for about 2.5 years.

The calendar entry deadline has arrived. I will stop accepting new entries at noon tomorrow. It will take a few days for me to go over the entries and setup a public vote for the cover. The vote most likely will only last a few days

Calendar Entry Reopened
extended deadline: Saturday September 20th

Two main reasons for the extension:
1.) The specific image size required by the calendar has resulted in some entries being cropped in ways the owner I believe did not intend. Members are welcome to submit up to two images. If you have already submitted images I will choose my favorite two.

2.) I need a day or two to work on the normal photo contest.


Calendar images are 2300x1800. The exterior 1/2" perimeter may or may not be included in the final calendar. You are welcome to crop your images, but please be careful not to create any compression artifacts. Voting on calendar images will begin Sunday. You can send your calendar entries to [email protected].

Are you saying that if we have previously submitted photos, we are allowed to submit a second set of two photos and you will choose your favorite two out of the group?
