Cricket farm mistake. Bought 1,000. Got 1,000. Then they refunded me for 1,000. Now I just got notice they shipped out another 1,000 today to me no charge. Will 2,000 crickets live in a 10 gallon tank? and how long? I've only got one bearded dragon and a panther chameleon. Thanks

I had only 1000 in a 18 gallon tank and it seemed pretty crowded. You should probably add a lot of egg crates!

& You were refunded AND received 2000 crickets? wowie o_o!

I think that is going to be way to much overcrowding. I put 500 in a 10 gallon. I would get one of those rubbermade totes and split them up. Be sure and sceen the top and the sides for ventilation.

Has anyone had success with storing 2000 crickets in a 10 gallon fish tank? If these were your options what would you do? a.)Try it and find out b.) Feed the extra 1000 to the bluegill in our lake c.) Try and sell the extra 1000 to petsmart. Thanks

It will definately be overcrowded. However if you provide enough food and water, as well a boat load of egg flats to give them enough room. They could be okay. I may take some and feed them to your fish and get use out of them.

If you have a rubbermade tote, i keep 1000+ in them and have no issues.

I'd probably try to sell off the extra 1000, that way you won't have overcrowding issues. Plus, crickets grow about 1/4" a week, and with only a dragon and a cham you won't be able to feed them all off before they die of old age. That's an amazing deal you got on them, but to me it's not worth the chance of overcrowding and killing them off. If the petstore doesn't want to buy them then I'd say the bluegills get a treat.

2000 crickets in a "container" with only air circulation at the top...

Enjoy your mass die off as they fart and poop ferment themselves to death.

You need at least a container with 2 sides of full screen to keep the fumes down.
