1st Trip to the Vet

Hello everyone,
The time for getting my 1st chameleon is almost here but I do have a question. Im planning on getting a male panther chameleon online approx. 3 1/2 months old from a well known breeder ( I dont want to say names so as to avoid bias)
My question was when should one take their cham to see a vet?, should it only be when a problem arises or after you receive him/her to make sure everything is ok? I know many breeders have their guarantees but I dont mind taking them for a check up anyways. i just dont want to put more stress on them than they already have. Thanks in advance for your reply and any help is greatly appreciated.

I take mine shortly after I get them for a well check and fecal float just to make sure they are ok and parasite free.

What do you recommend to use as a carrier to take them to the vet?

If your cage is small take him in his cage. I keep small travel cages for my guys.

If you do not have a carrier available, you can also use a shoe box with a few holes punched in the side. I would also put some fake plants in there for him to grab onto. Usually they will fall fast asleep, as it will be dark in the box.
