1st time set up

It Depends...........

What kind and age of chameleon are you planning to get. The answer to your question is dependent on that.....

The link isn't working... the LLLReptile home page isn't working either... the system must be down. But I think I have seen that package before. It seems to be complete, but once he site is up again I can give you a better opinion.

My suggestion is to stay away from the 65 gallon Reptarium-they are awkward in size and have side zippers. You won't need the moss but with any Reptarium you will need the softtray for the bottom. I think they have a 38 gallon version which would be great for about 4 months until you get a bigger cage. At that time the 38 will be a great cage when you clean the other one or you can use it for a sunning cage.

IMO, I don't really like the Reptarium. They are dark and are harder to clean because there is mesh that zips around the frame (see description below).

RepariumDescription: All mesh cages with zippered entry and durable frames. All models ship flat and assemble easily with no tools. Ideal for chameleons and for sunning cages for your desert and tropical reptiles. Extremely light weight and easy to move and clean. Replacement parts also available!

I like the aluminum screen cages. A bit more pricey, but worth it. Easy access, easy cleaning, and better visibility. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...ges/-/16-x-16-x-30-inch-aluminum-screen-cage/

If you have any basic carpentry skills, you can easily build a cage out of wood and screen, for less than $50 in supplies.

I am planning on building one soon, it should be faily easy, plus wood is easy to work with, and easy to add a drainage system to your enclosure.

If you like reptariums I would suggest checking this out (second page).

Improvements to the reptarium

Not that this is in any way a definative way to do your reptarium but I think it could give you some ideas as to how to go about it, should you go with a reptarium.

I think in the end you will end up being more satisfied with the set-up if you piece it together from various local stores and online places. You could end up with a set-up that is more comprehensive for a similar price if you shop good. Home Depot, Lowes and WalMart have alot of stuff that can be used in your cage. They are cheaper then pet stores too.
