Starting the build out of the entertainment center! Sides are cut out and framed and the door is an EPIC fail! Back to the drawing boards for my door. Still deciding what to do on the bottom for a drain system...

All that is left is to stain the frame and water-proof this bad boy!!

Any comments on the work thus far? Please and thanks!

I actually considered this. How did you keep feeders, your cham, etc from falling thru??

It's counter sinked no way for them to fall thru. Bevel the edges and tray water will drain down the side of the pot as well. Someone posted a picture in the enclosures section in which they did this. I'll see if I can find it.

this is going to look awesome!!!! I would like to see how the plant drain was put in too. Keep sending the work progress photos!

Thx! I'm excited! Should have the majority of everything done by 2moro! I'll keep posting!

Please do! I'm curious and looking to wrap most of everything up by 2moro! Thx!

For the door, have you thought of having it be a double-door with a latch in the center? It will be less weight on the small hinges and screen frame.

well Max of TU,
great looking enclosure, what are the dimensions?
other than pulling apart the sides (sorry, I don't know the proper terms!) how difficult was it to put together?

It looks awesome!!!!!!!!!

I just started dating a new guy....I can only pray that he can build me a cham enclosure out of an entertainment center.....

Looks awesome, I am looking for the same thing at the moment, but I think I am going to just break down and buy the 48'' one from LLL. I don't trust myself with all my dad's tools. I am so sad I don't have any guy friends anymore that I could sucker into making me a awesome wooden habitat. I can't ask my dad right now....he doesn't even know my nosy be exists....it's only been 2 weeks :) Shhhhhhhhhh

lol! I can't take all of the credit! I just envisioned the idea and luckily have a carpentry division at work with guys willing to help a brotha out! I can't wait to see the end result!! Thanks!

ahem, that would be Max of TTU, as in Texas Tech University! :)

Basically it was just cutting and putting in some screen. My obstacles now are deciding on a door (double or single) and determining which route I want to go with the draining.

The habitable part is approx 48x32x22. Thanks!
