1st enclosure help

I am not sure if I need a stronger basking light but the vine closet to the light is 86 the middle area is around 78 are these numbers ok

That depends on the age of your chameleon. If I remember right you are going to get a veiled. If it is a juvenile under 6 months that temp will be just fine, but if it is older it needs to be about 90 degrees at the basking spot. P.S. get rid of the water dish your cham won't drink from it, and it will only promote bacteria. It there is any standing water chameleons always find a way to poop in it. :)
 
I do not have a water bowl in the cage I have a little thing I put meal worms in but no water bowl and the veiled is 3 months old
 
Okay my bad that what I get for jumping to conclusions. Your temps are fine for now, but if it is a male you will want to bring the basking area up to at lest 90 degrees after it's about 6 months old. Good luck. :)
 
Ty hopefully I will be getting a bigger enclosure by then with a bigger lighting system to keep good high temperatures and yes its a male we named him Bob lol and thanks for your help I really do appreciate it
