I have a a order of 1k crickets and 1 tube of fruit flies coming from Flukers.com on Wednesday. But I have a question! I have a 10g fish tank I throw my crickets in now (which is about 200 crickets I go though in a 15 day period). I have no escapees either but 200 compared to 1000, there may be some escapees I would think. So my question is: Should I split 500/500 to 2 different cages?
Also the fruit flies: How many should I let lose in Angel's and Ringo's cage at a time?

On another note: This morning when I was feeding Angel I had a cricket on the tongs and it caught her eye. She aimed for it but unfortunately the cricket wiggled free. Guess she's starting to trust me, YAY:D

i keep 1000 crickets in a 10 gallon all the time. minimal escapees (I think its only the ones i accidenly drop) -- corn cob on the bottom helps so that the dead ones dont stick to the bottom and they aren't running around in their poop. I keep a few paper towel rolls in there and the egg crate that comes with the crickets.

crickets are dumb and will suffocate each other, so it helps to every day/other day shake your tubes and crate so the ones stuck in the middle can get out and eat.

Woops!

 Well my crickets are suppose to be in sometime this afternoon. So in preparations of their arrival I figured I'd mix some bug burger and clean the 10 gallon tank. Well, I dont know what i was thinking and dumped the whole container (which was about half) into the microwave dish and poured water in it. Then I looked and I was like "OMG! WTF did I just do!"

On the bright side I dont have to prepare any for next month!

Crickets are here!

So my crickets arrived. Opened the box to find little black worm things... Idk what they are but they are there. I ordered the 3 week old crickets and some of them our huge! Anyways I threw some bug burger in there and all 6 piles are cover with a blanket of crickets! Angel was watching me the whole time

i believe they will keep your bin clean (eat all the poop) not 100% but i think thats what they are i heard about them on here so some one will probably be able to tell you what they ar ebetter
