10.0 reptizoom bulbs going out?

Hey guys, before I go down to petsmart and act a fool and demand a new bulb, I bought a 10.0 reptizoom 1 month ago, a few days ago it flickered, but came back on. The next day when I went to turn it back on nothing. I tried a new ballast too. They are suppose to last a year according to the package(though I know I should replace at 6 months). Do I have a leg to stand on? I have the box and receipt still.
 
If the ballast and fixture are working (try it with another bulb if you have one), I think they should exchange it. If they give you the run around, I would contact ZooMed directly, especially b/c you have the receipt.
 
I had a ballast that would cut out randomly. After replacing the bulb - it didn't help. I would have to turn the light back on every time this happened. I got a larger ballast from the same brand - Zoo med, and I haven't had the problem. If you tried two ballasts, it's most likely the bulb. If the packaging says that it should last a year, but only lasted a month, you should have no problem getting a refund. Plus it's petsmart... it's hard to look like an idiot in that store.
 
Contact Zoomed, they will honor the guarantee. When I worked at a private pet store we definitely helped clients return defective products directly to them when they'd gone over their 30 day return period with us. If you're still within the 30 days go back to the store but if not or if they give you problems then talk directly with the manufacturer.
 
They let me exchange it:) it's small victories like these that make my day, yes it's only 32 bucks but it's 32 bucks I didn't have to fork over again, and they didn't even argue or make me get a manager.
I also got pulled over for speeding on my way home and did not get ticket.

Today was a good day.
