    White spot?

I really think it’s just markings on the one side at least. Not sure about the other but the temp doesn’t get that hot in there. When we put the infrared gun on the spot, it’s in the low 80s and that is consistent with the charts.

    White spot?

Auditor husband here: To clarify, it’s the 60w daylight blue as the 40w zoomed and 60w flickers weren’t getting warm enough*

    Tamura Designs Panther Build

So our chameleon is screen climbing a bit. Not sure if this is because it’s a new enclosure or because those rails it’s part of his climbing routes. Any concerns?

    Tamura Designs Panther Build

6am to 10am or PM? We keep ours on from 8am/7:30pm right now. My gut is our 60w is a bit poorer quality than the 40w so I may buy a couple bulbs to play around with it.

@crosscutts what wattage basking bulb do you use? Temps seemed a little low so we switched to our 60w and they were even lower somehow (ones a zoomed 40w blue (white daylight) and the other is a flukers 60w incandescent).

    Tamura Designs Panther Build

Well here she is. We picked up the enclosure yesterday and pretty much finished the build today. We are debating on using a 40 or 60w heat lamp as that top basking spot (9” from the top) was getting to only 80 degrees over a 30 minute period. Maybe that’s fine but that’s when we strapped a WiFi...

    White spot?

We only had it there due to the conflicting advice we first read on Reddit whereby they said it should be raised some per the Zoomed UV index. Seems though that the basking value should be higher and then closer to 1 lower down the enclosure.

    White spot?

For context, we played around with the height a lot at the beginning. I put a smart thermometer there and left it for an hour (right where he would bask) and would be 82-85 per the graph which was the aim given the guidance we received here.

    White spot?

It’s a 5.0. We can put it on the top but this is all going to be changed on Friday/Saturday when the Tamura enclosure comes in. We will be replacing with a T5 6.0 Arcadia.

    White spot?

It’s actually a T8 but that’s less UV. We have messed around with the light positioning before but it has been like this for a while. I’ll let my wife say the distance as she’s home with Rainy.

    White spot?

Hello! I think it’s just normal color changing, but thought I would post here anyway. What is this white and black spot on my male Panther chameleon? I also included a full body photo for reference so you can see the size of it on his left side (and because he’s cute).

Ok auditor in me coming out. Are these readings accurate or am I misreading them? Why is the 9” distance 2.1 but 6” only 1.8? Seems like they should be switched, no?
