What kind of panther is it

I bought my chameleon from the reptile expo about seven months ago. He is almost 8 months old now and I know that it is a panther, but the breeder played a odd game of panther roulette he called it. There was no telling which parent the chameleon came from. And the purpose was to make some of...

    Baby chameleon questions!

This really helps thanks a lot, so just to conclude everything , do not use a heat lamp at all until he is at least 3 months old and after that I can add one that’s 8 inches away from the screen? and just keep a uvb 3 inches away from the top of the screen? Also should I be worried about him...

    Baby chameleon questions!

Okay, thank you! if there is no basking light though does that mean it’s fine for him to be at ambient temperature all the time? It’s usually 68 to 70F at night and 72-76 during the day while I’m gone. And around how long should I wait and what age till before I give him a basking light

I have a two week old panther and it’s been in this small tent until today I tried to put him in his enclosure.I had a basking light set up 8 inches away from the basking branch but the light was sitting on the cage top and he had been directly underneath it almost all day and eventual I saw him...

    Baby chameleon questions!

Yea In the small tent he’s in now hes farther away from it and it’s a good temp, but it doesn’t really fix my problem that he’s sitting there under direct heat when he’s in the cage, basically overheating himself on purpose what it seems like. I guess I’ll keep him in his tent for another 1-2...

    Baby chameleon questions!

So update, I saw him gaping, while he was under his basking bulb. Like I said he chooses to go directly under it on the top screen. The basking branch is in a good spot and sits around 82 degrees but he chooses to stay under it on the screen. I even put some pvc pipe between the lamp and the...

    Bean Beatles

I just moved my baby chameleon into his enclosure today (16x16x30) I’ve been putting bean Beatles and black soldier fly larvae in a little feeder cup but the bean Beatles get out fast and are hard to find because they’re so small. Can I put a couple black eye peas in the feeder cup to help draw...

    Baby chameleon questions!

His basking light is about 8 inches from the highest point which is that small branch in the back. Should I still raise the light off the screen a couple inches so he doesn’t hurt himself. And he likes to sit directly under the uvb on the top screen, is that normal?

    Baby chameleon questions!

Hello everyone, I know this is going to sound bad but I bought a 12 day old panther chameleon at a reptile expo this past weekend not knowing that that is way too young because I didn’t know any better but I am doing the best that I possibly can to give him the what he/she needs because it’s too...
