Correction: URI and initial vet visit were in April, the second blood test was in early June! Also, the injections were every three days.

    Randall's Vet Visit

Hello! We just wanted to share how Randall has been doing as it has been about 1 year since we adopted him! Randall is our male veiled cham who we adopted from a store in our city that takes in rescue/surrendered exotic animals. He, unfortunately, was previously in the enclosure he was...

    Is this hornworm too big

Hmmm just reread, how old is your bud? Since your veiled is about the size of your hand….definitely would want some input from someone with more experience with juveniles.

    Is this hornworm too big

It looks ok! But probably the biggest you’d wanna give, I’ve given my (adult) veiled some that hornworms that size but I tend not to anymore because I can tell he has a bit of a harder time getting it down. Have you fed that size before?

    Outdoor Keeping Season is Here!

What did you use to attach the vertical branches like the one holding up the nursery pot? I'm thinking of doing the same with my indoor setup. I've used zip ties and jewelry wire for smaller branches but haven't installed the larger ones yet. Love this enclosure btw!

    Temp

While I'm not sure how hot they can handle, 98 F is very hot for ambient temps. I've heard placing ice packs on the top of the enclosure can help with cooling down, not sure how much of a difference this would make tho

    Is this a mulberry tree/leaves???

Thanks, I don't think these are mulberry leaves but on the bright side-- my silkworms finally gave in and started to eat the chow!

    Is this a mulberry tree/leaves???

What do you guys think? I bought some young silkworms and tried to transition them from leaves to chow-- about half of the 25 have been protesting and climbing the walls of the Tupperware cup they're in so I decided to try to find some fresh leaves for them to avoid any die-off. Here are some...

    Is T8 10.0 equivelent to T5 5.0?

I think a T5 with a 10 might be a lot unless you have a very big cage with a lot of opportunities for shade....but I'm honestly not experienced enough to know. The T8 with 10.0 is what I have, here's a great resource for basking branch placement from chameleon academy- This is how I set mine up.

My veiled chameleon is unusually friendly and adventurous!

You could have a very friendly veiled with a puppy dog attitude but from what I've read sometimes, wanting to leave their enclosure can mean there are aspects or parts of it bothering them. I first thought mine was like that too when I first met him at the rescue place I adopted him from. My...
