    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

Man I’ve been looking for a cabinet for some time now. Most fitting one I found on marketplace was in Arkansas so that was a no go.

    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

Stalled a bit. Just patched up some screen holes. Think I’ve decided to forgo the foam and do sheets of black plexiglass on the 4 outsides sealed with NP1. This way the moisture stays in but the sides all still have the ability for him and feeders to crawl around on as opposed to plexiglassing...

    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

Well, aside from the drainage trays it’s done. After this it’s the starting point that anyone else would be at after they received their enclosure that took a month or two to build after the order was placed according to what I read on the company’s website and products you’re referencing. Right?

And I wonder what all I could do with an extra $400 😉

    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

Yes, I learned rather quickly with our single Large Reptibreeze enclosure that water needs somewhere to go other than all over its wood stand, lol. I tapped the substrate tray and ran tubing to a large vase underneath for the time being on that one (currently housing our cham). For this new...

    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

I will add a 1/16th x 1/2” flat piece to the interior side of the front where the join is. As well, I had to make some footers for the front bottom corners to get it leveled due to the new “exo skeleton”. I’ll paint the metal black then move on to foaming. I’m a newbie at that so any and all...

    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

Ok so the bracing is done. Went to Lowes and picked up some aluminum stock and self tapping screws. Total was just under $50. the angled pieces are 1/16th x 3/4” and the flats are 1/8th x 1”. I braced the back side top and bottom and the flats went on top, bottom, and backside at the joining...

    Basking bulb advice

From a suggestion made on this forum I purchased a Phillips 75W Agro-Lite for my plants and heat. It definitely puts out more heat than the blue zoo med bulb that we originally had so I hung the fixture from the ceiling at a height and angle that gave me the correct temp range at the basking spot.

    48”x48” Reptibreeze XL Build

So I acquired the two Reptibreeze XLs off of Facebook Marketplace. One brand new in box for $80 and the other one, used, for $65. Not too bad. Here’s where they will sit, on a stand, once joined and completed. First order of business was to make this a French door set up. I took the used unit...

Keeping chameleon in main room of the house + basking too much?

Are you over thinking things a bit buddy?

    Foaming Enclosure

You know what, I’m just seeing that. Only the pin that it latches to is riveted in. Looks like I can do an interior bracing with some aluminum sticks from Lowes that would sure the two into a solid enclosure still weighing nothing. Work begins tomorrow. Guess I’ll start a build thread 😉

    Foaming Enclosure

MissSkittles, I think you and I just need to become buddy buddy. I go pick up the second XL enclosure today. 2 to 2-1/2 cans for 3/4ths cover per panel is good to know. I’m also trying to figure out how to remove the door latches which I haven’t yet, in order to make one swing out like a French...

    Foaming Enclosure

How many cans of Great Stuff are used for an XL Reptibreeze do you think? I’ll be doing 4 panels in my joint XL enclosure I’m building.

Joining 2 Reptibreeze XLs to Make 1 Enclosure

Please don’t take the comment about improving on your design negative. In fact, it’s a great job and just what I needed to start with detailing the plans. From a structural stand point I’m thinking I can brace everything to really make the framing which is already flimsy a bit more rigid. Your...

Joining 2 Reptibreeze XLs to Make 1 Enclosure

Has anyone taken 2 XLs, kept the middle panels out and joined the enclosures to create a 48” enclosure before? I would think this is possible with some gusseting and bracing with some aluminum. Thoughts?
