I'll definitely add more sticks for him around his enclosure, and especially the UVB area. The bulb strength is 5.0, and it is 7.5 inches from his branch.
His tongue shoots and retracts normally, but since he is blind in one eye, his accuracy isn't very good. This is part of the reason we need...
It runs across on the left side, the right has his heat lamp.
I replaced his UVB and plant light in August. He had an Arcadia T5 UVB with an additional plant light, but after taking him to an exotic vet for an issue not too long ago, they recommended zoo med reptisun which is what I have now...
Here are some photos from this morning. The photo of him being all dark (under the heat lamp) is how I find him a lot of the time; hanging on to his own limbs and all curled. The photos with him with brighter colors is his way of saying he hates my phone camera. He always hated my phone so this...
The only change I can think of is the long stick up top is now two long sticks since when he only had one he would sometimes fall off and with two he stabilizes himself better. There is also less coverage on the top since his main plant outgrew his enclosure and I changed it with a younger plant...
The photos with less light are from now and the photos of the day are photos my parents sent me while I was away. Idk if Im just over reacting but I want to make sure he's ok.
Hi all, I just started my winter break from college and when I got home I immediately noticed my cham sleeping in a very odd position. He was sleeping with his tail completely uncurled with two of his legs just dangling which is something I've never seen before. My parents said he's been like...
Hello all, I've got a quick question for UVB light suggestions. I'm not sure which brand of UVB lights I have since it's been 2 years since they've been replaced. I'm well aware of how overdue they are for a replacement so I am looking to get them replaced before I go off to college to leave my...
I have a male panther chameleon. Rio is about a year old and it's time to replace his basking light. Current he has a 60 watt bulb that is a warm yellow color. I got him a new bulb today. 60 watts but it's a white color. Would that be fine for him? Here is a picture of his current light and a...
Ok thanks. I fed him 5 large yesterday and then he just sat up on his basking branch for a while then occasionally moved spots for cooler areas or he moves to the UVB area. Thank you. I'll feed him another 5 crickets tomorrow. I also plan on getting more bugs for his diet such as silk worms.
The crickets definitely fit between his eyes. I made sure to check before feeding him the large. And the leaves definitely do make him look small lol. I have to trim the leaves about once a month because the leaves on the top grow so big and reach the heating lamp. Knowing the crickets are fine...
My Panther Chameleon is 8 months old and is a pretty good size. I've started feeding him large crickets and he eats them with no problem. I also powder them with the right supplements everyday. Is he at the point where I feed him every other day and if so how many crickets every other day. Is...
I've been monitoring the humidity levels in my chameleons enclosure using 2 hygrometers that sync to an app on my phone. The daytime humidity levels are great during the day usually between 50-60% but for night the humidity drops way too much and I can't seem to fix the issue. I put some clear...
Thank you very much this helps a lot. Once I go back to get more crickets this weekend I'll get a few big crickets and make sure Rio is comfortable with them before I start buying a lot. I'll also try some small hornworms and silk worms.
Thank you. So that's a yes to the big crickets and no to the the other critters or wait a little longer before I give him big crickets and other critters.
Hello,
I've had Rio for about 3 months going on 4 months. He is 6 months old and his diet is really only 20 small crickets a day with a calcium power without D3 every day and a repetivite with D3 on the 1st and 15th of every month. I am curious as to when I can start feeding him large crickets...
Ok thank you. Also thank you for all of your help with my enclosure! Everything is going good and the mister is great! He is happy and never dark unless basking.
