    Drinking from floor?!

Thanks for the help, turns out that today he's up top and roaming around. Still eating a lot less but all signs are of good health. Oh, urates are quite white and everything looks well-digested. 17 days between last poops, though, but they're big.

    Drinking from floor?!

My 10-month-old Panther, Stan, has taken to hanging upside down on the plant stand legs closely facing the floor and sometimes drinking from there. Apart from that, and eating a lot less, he seems fine. The cage floor is a 2'x2' sheet of white plastic which I keep pretty clean. The...

LLL vs ZooMed ReptiBreeze 2x2x4-foot cages

I asked Zoomed specifically about this cage and they clearly replied that it is all aluminum. To those who had them rust, could you elaborate, please? Thanks a lot...

    PantherHumidity needs?

I see that 50-60 percent general humidity seems preferred for a Panther. Could someone please explain what the humidity achieves vs, say, 30 percent? Stan gets four 5-minute misting sessions per day and his shedding and urates seem fine. He's eating gut-loaded supers, crickets and silks and...

    Stan in the sun

Just moved him to a 2x2x4 cage this weekend and he looks like he is doing well. I intend on having him outside on weekends for a while but I think that there are too many birds to let him just sit in a tree or something. I even kept a close eye while he was out in the cage.

    Small holes in condo

I use screen repair kits for the bottom of feeder cups. PRO Repair is the company that makes them in a 5-pack with 3" x 3" aluminum squares and they should work fine.

    vine chewing?

When my Panther did this I pinned a piece of collard green on the fake ivy and he had a few pieces of it and seemed to like it a lot. I have done this again every week or so.

    Real plants?

For a Panther, what would be the need for live plants if the humidity was kept up and greens always available? Thanks...

Moved to adult cage finally.. comments?

Thanks for the picture. If you have a chance, could you post a couple of close-ups where you mounted the bio-vine and hanging plant support. Those are tie-wraps through widened screen holes, right? I just got a similar cage and have lots of time to get it ready since Stan is only 4 1/2...

Did you get the plants from a nursery? What precautions did you take and how did you treat the plants? Great info and pictures. Thanks!

    Chewing artificial leaves

Thanks for the advice. I clipped a collard green leaf on the ivy and just watched him eat a lot of it. I had no idea that they liked this as much. It's great to see him tear bits off. He seemed to really enjoy it. Can he be allowed to eat as much greens as he wants and are Collard greens...

    Chewing artificial leaves

Stan (4-month old Panther) has started chewing on the fake ivy. I figure that real plants are the best answer but I was hoping to wait until he moves into a big cage. What and how can I give him vegetation to eat? Collard greens in a cup? Thanks for any suggestions...

    Cleaning water reservoir?

How often should I clean the water reservoir supplying the misting system? Is just emtying and replacing the water after wiping down the bucket enough? What about the tubing, pump and nozzle? The water is heated to 88 degress or so. Thanks for any advice...

    Separation anxiety!

Just need to vent... I hardly get to see Stan (4-month old Ambilobe Panther) at all during the week. I have to have his lights turn on at 6:30 AM so he's ready to visit and get food at 7:00 since I have to leave for work at 7:15. I put worms on the leaves and crickets in a cup so he eats...

    Misting Cycles?

Hi there, jumping in with a question... I just installed an automatic misting system and am still trying out various timings. I am using a submersible heater to keep the water at about 86 degrees. This is for a 4-month old Panther named Stan. Anyone else heating the water and what are...
