Possible MBD? Check up from view point from Friends.

He loves climbing to the very top of his cage where his basking light is and sits on the top of the bamboo stick a lot. Not all the time but a lot. I haven't really noticed if he sticks his head to the cage. Here recently I've just caught him moving to the top branch to stretch out and lay down...

Thanks! I'll buy some more supplements and adjust his feeding schedule. You think adding regular calcium to the repashy once a month would be too much?

I had read that some people were trying to stick to a more natural approach for them receiving calcium and their supplements by gut loading. I've listed all the veggies and fruits that I gut load with and most of the form above. But other than that, I only dust his crickets once a week. I had...

Just noticed today though that the tip of his casque on his head is bent. Is this normal sometimes? Anybody see any concerning things with him? His face is also been a little blueish/whiteish. Like its kinda pale maybe? But it's hard to tell if it's discolored or just a pigmentation he's...

    Lady bugs?

Just a suggestion: I was just looking through my cricket enclosure and actually found an Asian Lady Beetles larva burrowing into the egg carton that I have placed in there. Beware with egg cartons. I'm not sure if they could eat a parasite or not and then from there a cricket eat the larva and...

Thanks for this! I actually thought it was pretty genius and mimicked it for the most part. JJ seems much happier about it.

He still won't let me hold him.

He hissed at my wife the very first morning he spent the night but JJ just got used to it, man. And then he doesn't. He tries to run sometimes but to me it's the same way a cat will run when they don't wanna be brushed. Sometimes you just HAVE to get them to observe their mouth and their spikes...

The best I've gotten is this one. Where his stripes stop there is white cracked like skin. Lack of hydration maybe?

Last thing I meant to ask about, he's got some cracked spots on his sides and I wasn't sure if that's normal for chams or something I should have checked out. He's shed once so far since I've had him and grown quite a bit. I just would hate for it to be an unexpected surprise.

Wow! Thanks for the advice. I've got some serious reconstructing to do but do you have any tips on what to use to stabilize your branches with an aluminum cage? I've found that the wiring can be broken fairly easy. I've tried to keep from using anything that will pull tremendously due to weight...

He loves climbing faces and hair but I don't like to just let him do it all the time because I'm not sure if any oils from hair are damaging to him..? But my friend also owned a ball python at one time who was super friendly even with strangers and we introduced him to several different people...

For sure!! Thanks for that. He's a male veiled Cham and Petco really didn't know how old he was. My wife got me him as a Christmas present and they guessed about 2 months. Been in my care since then so about 6 weeks?? We try not to handle him too much. I've read that chams need a little more...

    Introducing JJ

When I found this forum page, I was looking for answers more than support. JJ is my first experience with a reptile but my goodness I truly feel like a papa bear as much as I stay worried about his health. For this reason and understanding, I need to look past my self-centerness and not be...
