Chameleons mouth gape when they are too hot. They use that for the saliva in their mouth to evaporate to cool them down. Try moving the heat lamp further away from him/her or the cage.

There is nothing really in there that would make him be like that. Just vines and fake plants. That's about it. Could it be he needs more coverage?

No, not really. I do have other pets. I've had them for a while now. He didn't seem to mind them when I first got him. Foot traffic not much. Every time I leave my room I close the door, and I try to be quiet.

Its not as bad right here, but throughout the day it's usually worse. Hopefully this pic is good enough.
