    Cuddling with my chameleon.

When transferring a sleepy Kevin from his free range area back into his habitat, just before lights out at 7 pm, he often falls asleep in my hand.

Not eating regularly for 6 days

Thanks Becca! Now that I know he doesn't need a heat lamp on all night I'll get a different heat lamp so he gets to know where the heat comes from. Totally makes sense. I saw that post with the hanging free-range! Love it and I'll see what I can put together. Oh, the fun of a new...

Not eating regularly for 6 days

Thank you both! Yep, I'm sorry I wrote so much. The uvb is a T5. I'll need to raise it up. If I'm going to keep the heat lamp on the same on/off schedule as the uvb light, couldn't I keep the black heat bulb? I'll get some vitamin A. I'm looking forward to other ideas if anyone has...

Not eating regularly for 6 days

Hi, Our veiled chameleon, Kevin, has not been eating regularly for the last 6 days. He normally eats about 8 to 10 medium/large dubia roaches a day and a 3 to 4 superworms every other day as a treat. Last Sunday, 7/21, we had family over and he was handled more than normal. I think we held him...

Wow, I've never seen anything like that. She's so cute and looks so uncooked. Tanning is a great idea! :)

Rubing on casque - Healing ok?

Thanks! I thought it looked like it was healing well too. It looks like it's got a scab on it. I'll leave the shed alone. (y)

Rubing on casque - Healing ok?

Hi, About a month and a half ago I noticed a spot on the top of my cham, Kevin's, casque. It looked like he was rubbing his head on the top of his enclosure. I've sense then lowered the branches and have kept an eye on wound. I've read forums about burns, etc. and how the heal on their own...

    Total mummy in three hours

I love that! We were SO surprised at how fast the shed comes and goes! This is Kevin, our 4 or 5-month-old male veiled's second shed with us. He looks so proud of his mustache and goatee. We can tell he's about to shed because he doesn't eat as much just before it.

New veiled chameleon owner - Are we doing it right?

Thanks for the confirmation this is pretty normal. We did find the calcium without Vit. D3 and started him on it today. We say him sleeping last night and he was a beautiful light green so I'm sure it's just going to take time. He's also eating much more so hopefully, that will help too.

New veiled chameleon owner - Are we doing it right?

Thank you! I went to PetSmart and PetCo today and they don’t sell calcium without D3! We have another place to go to tomorrow, if not, Amazon it is. We’ve stopped the D3 today. How long does it take them to get used to their new space? Thank you for your help!

New veiled chameleon owner - Are we doing it right?

Thanks so much for the reply! We’ll go get Calcium without Vit. D3 tomorrow. Looking forward to feeding him more! Any ideas about what can be causing him stress? He is shy and tends to go hide when we come in to look at him. It’s a pretty quiet room he’s in. Is it ok to mix the two...

New veiled chameleon owner - Are we doing it right?

Hi, My daughter and I are the proud owners of our first chameleon, Kevin! We got him from the Berkeley Vivarium in Berkeley, California. They said he was between 2 and 3 months old. We've had him for almost 4 weeks now and after reading a lot on this sight, I don't think we're doing the...
