    Feeding horn worms

Thanks. I got some collard greens from the store and and hung them upside down in the chameleons enclosure. To me it looks like the droppings are the crumbs that go on coffee or crumb cakes. Possibly even the entennman's crumb topped donut.

    Feeding horn worms

I bought a dozen little tiny/medium horn worms on January 28th. I only planned on giving them to my daughter's Amblilobe every couple of days. 3 horn worms later, I have 6 giant horn worms and 3 medium sized. The food in the timberline container is almost gone. What should I gut load them...

    Buying Online VS In Person

I just bought from FLCHAMS. They respond fairly quickly. I got my other items already and they said they will be able to get the chameleon to me timed specifically to meet my Christmas present timeline. They also said I will be provided instructions on how to keep the chameleon happy until...

    Gecko and chameleon

I would assume the gecko would become a veiled chameleon menu item at some point. The chameleon would look at it as a meal that is maybe too big to eat at the moment. You put in a large bearded dragon or a medium iguana. The chameleon would be stressed quite a bit.

    Trouble keeping dubias warm

Go to home depot or lowes and get a 4x8 sheet of 1 or 2 inch insulation sheathing. Cut it to your specific dimensions and join the joints with duct tape. Put the heat pad inside of the foam box with a piece for a cover and it should be good. https://www.homedepot.com/s/super%2520tuff?NCNI-5

Prepping to get my first chameleon

I am waiting for my daughter to decide. I told her to keep researching. Everything will be gut loaded and dusted.

Prepping to get my first chameleon

I was thinking that I would go dubia and raise them with natural gut loading and spiked crickets until I could harvest. The crickets would be dipped in supplements. I want my daughter to see how much of a pain this is to actually raise a chameleon. I went from reptiles to fish around 2002 and...

Prepping to get my first chameleon

So this initial startup should be good for a panther chameleon? The panther chameleon can be hand trained?

Prepping to get my first chameleon

No clue. I was looking at flcham site and they have a wide variety. My daughter said that she wanted a chameleon and that she wanted to interact with it and feed it by hand. My Fischer's chameleon did not tolerate any touching. It hissed at me and would bite me. We had an agreement that I take...

Prepping to get my first chameleon

The resource pages on this site said both 5 and 10 were good bulbs. Other google searches said that a 5.0 UVB provides 5.0 UVB at a maximum of 10 inches. So if there are two 5.0s you will get a range of UVB from less than 10 to whatever inverse square law dictates as it reaches 48 inches that is...

Prepping to get my first chameleon

I think a carpet. I built a chameleon cage when I was a kid 23 years ago. I hand built a 2x4x4 enclosure and had a Fischer's in it. It lived for 5 years until I went to Army basic training and gave everything to my best friend to raise until I was out of AIT. I left for basic in August 1996 and...

Prepping to get my first chameleon

That looks like it will make it easier to clean. I might look into a similar setup. Ease of maintenance is always a benefit. For your lighting, you have a single T5 5.0 UVB. I was considering getting two of those, spacing them equally distant, and making a hood for the top of the cage. I was...

Prepping to get my first chameleon

Didn't even have to post my own thread. I had a bunch of questions about a beginner cage setup and they all got answered here.
