Matt Vanilla Gorilla Purchased Thread (Nuts Over Chameleons)

I'm not as experienced as others here, but my Zeus is much more shy & tentative than Bowie. Bowie loves to be the center of attention. I take that into consideration when working with either of them. I know Zeus is coming from a place of fear when he hisses & gets bitey. I do everything possible...

    Going Away

This is why I do not recommend teens purchasing delicate reptiles unless their parents/guardians are willing to take them on when they go to college/gap year/move/etc. Their lives are not settled for many years. Please consider the adoption board & adopt to an experienced cham owner only.

    NEED ASSISTANCE/ADVICE - VERY UPSET

I'm not versed well enough in bioactive setups, but cleaner bugs can help out in both cricket & roach bins reducing the amount of cleaning you need to do. Full throttle feeders (among others) have supplies at good prices. Still use a mask & gloves to be safe.

    NEED ASSISTANCE/ADVICE - VERY UPSET

You are definitely not alone! I have bad asthma & have to wear a mask when working with crickets & dubia. I sometimes have issues on my more sensitive days with standing water/mold/mildew...so I have to empty drainage daily & make sure to not have a super large reservoir for my mistking. Small...

    NEED ASSISTANCE/ADVICE - VERY UPSET

2 good D3 supplements to complement would be either Repashy LoD or Sticky Farms indoor - both have mined calcium carbonate - so not crushed seafood sources. The iodine components are from either kelp or hydroponic vegetable matter. I would still use gloves/mask just because of how fine the...

    NEED ASSISTANCE/ADVICE - VERY UPSET

I believe arcadia uses natural clay instead of seafood sources - I would definitely try that as well as using a mask & gloves. Crickets and roaches might not be able to be used but worms, locusts/mantis/stick bugs, snails, BFSL - check out Symton as they have different sizes & pupae, so hatch...

    Help with panther chameleon!

Infections requiring antibiotics generally come from poor husbandry practices like waterfalls and drinking bowls which are known to harbor bacteria. What I think Syreptyon is trying to get at is how are you planning on preventing a reinfection? We are all here to help and utilizing the form...

looking to get into the chameleon world, unsure of where to start

I'm very sorry about your family situation - that is a tough life. I do not wish to start arguments or drama and yes, my main concern is for the animal but also for the humans taking care of them (financial, mental, physical stresses involved). This is a very complex animal with expensive needs...

looking to get into the chameleon world, unsure of where to start

I am in no way discouraging teens from entering this hobby. I work with amazing teens everyday & know how serious & responsible many of them are. I'm just pointing out the legalities - as a minor you technically do not own anything, even stuff you pay for since you are under the "administration"...

    New Panther Owner Seeking Guidance

One other thing - the bamboo bridge you made - did you sand the bamboo or wrap it someway? I can't tell from the pics. Bamboo can be very slick when wet - might want to sand it and make sure your baby can get a grip on it. I like to use willow or aspen instead of bamboo. I get those at my local...

looking to get into the chameleon world, unsure of where to start

Well you come off as the underdeveloped teenager you are - can't fault you for that. While the animals are living creatures, and I love my 2 panthers, 1 bearded dragon, 1 leopard gecko, hermann's tort, 2 crested geckos, cat and service dog immensely, the equipment required becomes a hobby to...

looking to get into the chameleon world, unsure of where to start

Unless you want carpal tunnel issues by misting 5 minutes - 3 minutes multiple times per day...every day at set times, no excuses, save your money and get a mist king system. I'm specific on the system because it will save you a lot of frustration later. You have no clue what your life or school...
