So I had a brand new zew med heating bulb. It basically died in 3 weeks, from what I understand they should last at least 6 months before replacing. Is this a situation where I should ask for a refund or will local pet stores not care?

Right on, my cham is starting it’s first shed with me, it looks like it’s starting with the tail. Is the tail something to be concerned about like the feet/toes during a shed or would the fact it’s prehensile assist the shedding process?

I didn’t realize it could complicate the shedding process, duely noted. And I realize hot water would be bad for a cham but when it sprays it comes out about skin temp which I heard was about the sweet spot. Please correct me if I’m wrong as I’m still learning :)

Ya the only time I directly mist my cham is when he is shedding and it’s with warm water. The little guy is mortified of being sprayed any other way so I typically avoid directly misting him when possible. The book is called “The Chameleon Handbook” by Francois Le Berre

Thanks for the replies guys I’ll be sure to get some calcium powder w/o the D3 today and see if that helps. They were telling me its fine since I keep indoors but after hearing what you all had to say I’m thinking otherwise.

Thanks for the reply and yah, Charlie is cute as a button! He gets 6 appropriately sized crickets 8 if they don’t have any big enough dusted with calcium + d3 every day but the powder usually gets knocked off 1/2 - 1/3 of the crickets when they go under my dripper. I also will every 3-4 days...

Thank you for the reply I will definitely try the vine idea, but I will need a plant for him. He comes to the front of the cage every morning at 4:30 am to ask for the lights and doesn’t seem scared if I open up to mist while he is there. I will try to get him used to the vine in the mornings...
