I did fail to mention that he was a panther and I live in Texas so we are very dry here. This was the only way I could keep his humidity a consistent 50%. Any recommendations on how to keep humidity up without all the misting?
I just recently lost my panther chameleon to an infection that he couldn’t kick. I’m worried that he and my other chameleon who passed a couple of years ago from an infection had weak immune systems due to a husbandry issue. I can’t stop thinking about this and don’t want to get another...
Thank you everyone for your help and support with Yoshi. I did decide to take him to an emergency vet on Sunday and they gave him fluids, a calcium shot, and a shot for pain, and they transferred him to an exotic vet this morning. The vet managed to get the tongue back out after sedating Yoshi...
Okay. Thank you so much. I have ordered some repashy calcium plus LoD to replace my rep-cal multivitamin and calcium w/ D3. I have brought Yoshi to an emergency vet and am waiting to hear what they suggest.
He only sticks the hyoid bone out on occasion to get the tongue unstuck (at least that’s what I think he’s trying to do when he’s doing that). The rest of the time he looks completely normal and he is able to drink water normally.
Thank you so much for your responses. I’m so worried about him. To answer the supplementation question. I put rep-cal calcium w/o D3 on all his feeders. On the 1st and 15th I replace the calcium with rep-cal herptivite and on the 2nd and 16th I replace the calcium w/ the rep-cal calcium w/ D3...
For the past few months Yoshi has been struggling shooting his tongue out more than a couple of inches. After a round of antibiotics for some redness in his throat he got better for about a week and then unfortunately the problem came back. Because of this, the vet decided to sedate Yoshi and...
Thank you for your responses! Really hoping for a boy but a girl isn’t a dealbreaker. Looks like I’ve got some mixed responses so I guess time will tell. Would like to come up with a good name based off of gender. Any other inputs would be greatly appreciated!
Just got this ambilobe panther chameleon yesterday and tried my best to pick a boy. Could someone verify for me please? He/she is a little over a month old. Only have 2 pictures. 3rd pic is just a closer look of the 2nd pic. What do you guys think?
