My female panther had a 'difficult pregnancy'. She took about 3 days to completely lay all of her eggs (since dropping the first one), but finally did lay 25 eggs total last week.
Immediately after laying, she did eat and drink a little. But now, for the last 5 days or so, she has hardly been...
I had the same problem with my young panther cham when I first got him - we would put plenty of crickets in his cage, but he would eat many... Turned out that WAS the problem!
We decided to wait until he had eaten all his crickets, and then went one whole day without putting anymore in, to get...
I (sadly) had to force-feed my 3 mo old cham a while back when he had parasites. It was difficult to say the least, but this is what I did and it did work as he's all better now: :)
fill a needle-less syringe with a high protein baby food and holding his body in one hand, try stroaking the sides...
You said "allow them to free range"... how would you free range silk worms? Do they just crawl around on the floor of the cage or will they crawl up the sides and on the plants? I have an order of 100 coming and have never used silks before... :O
Hey, so I found a guy on craigslist who builds custom animal cages for a pretty affordable price, and I'm trying to work out all the details of how I want the cage built...
The biggest hurdle I'm coming across is drainage (obviously...)
I've read through different threads and haven't come...
Thanks for the feedback and compliments! He is pretty darn cute, isn't he?
As for crawling on the ground, I've only caught him actually on the ground twice and he went back up the wall immediately when he saw me. It was like he knew he was doing something he wasn't supposed to, lol. I think...
I'm not an expert (haha, I just posted a thread about whether MY nosy be is a he or she, too!), but the tan, almost rosy coloration in the third picture does seem to look like that of a female...
The people in that place don't seem to know much about sexing chams. If you HAVE to have a boy, you...

He's a boy, right? (7 month old Nosy Be) Reason I even started to doubt it is that he (she?) has been crawling around on the bottom of his cage lately...
Thanks for your input!
I'm trying to save money and my growing panther cham is eating me out of house and home! Does anyone know of an affordable place to buy crickets or other feeders in the Sacramento area?
(Or someone who could ship for cheap?)
Thanks for your help!
That cage is beautiful! Nice job! I have heard a lot of negative feedback about compact UVB bulbs however... I think the consensus is that the 5.0 UVB Reptisun tube is definitely the way to go.
Could you maybe post a picture of what mouthrot would look like? I think my cham might have had this in the past, but it has cleared up on its own since.
I have no clue... he was only about 2-3 months old when he was diagnosed, so I think he must have had them to start out with. He didn't eat that much and was a VERY slow grower at first. Just in the past couple months has he started to catch up to the size he should be for his age...
