Will a chameleon eat all his bugs in one day while I’m gone on vacation?

The only way I found to feed them on a timer of sorts is to use black soldier fly larvae. It's not 100% but letting them pupate where the chameleon can't get the larvae but the adults can fly out.

    What bulb do i use?

It may have been that spectrum was closer to the sun's. I was trying to find what I read and all I found was halogen has less yellow and more white and in a different read I saw that pet shop heat lamps are color corrected to remove the yellow for some reason. Either way, it incandescent is...

    What bulb do i use?

I used mostly 75 watt incandescent if you can find them. 72 watt halogen (100 watt equivalent) work well too. I recently read that halogen bulbs have a benefit for reptiles over incandescent. I was able to get halogen at Target about a year ago. Incandescent are almost impossible to find...

    Favorite Foods

Mine love hornworms the most but my wallet doesn't. We compromise on black soldier flies. I buy them as larvae (reptiworms, calciworms, phoenixworms) and let them pupate because the adults are easier to feed off... No dirt. They also seem to like the flies better than the larvae. Another...

    Are Superworms actually Mealworms?

I use roaches as my number 1 and black soldier flies (adults) as my number 2. Superworms probably are 15% of their diet. Those and crickets are the only ones i can think if that combine price, ease and nutrition to make staples.

    BSF

I use the adults alot. I buy them 1000-2000 at a time. They keep for 8 months before i started noticing significant die off. Some still hatch after 8 months but not as many. I use a cheap wine fridge set at 56 degrees.

Yes. I will check on him and spray him down an extra time or two. I am an ex employee and still help out from time to time... What does he eat at home? When I stop by, I usually bring dubias or BSF for the chams.

    Orange head diet

I feed a lot of carrots. I am not sure what is in koi food but it is designed for an omnivorous creature. I feed a little rabbit food for protein. It's alfalfa based. I also feed oranges, bananas, apple core, sweet potato and veggie scraps. Dandelion greens in the summer are a great addition.

    Supers. Dead or cold?

bugs reactivate quickly. If they arent moving by now, they are probably dead or near death. You could put the box on a heating pad to warm them up faster, then you would know for sure./

Chameleon gets mad at reflection while in his terrarium

For a temp fix more light outside the cage will cut down on the reflection until you can get more plants and branches. I have heard this problem from other people as well.

First time owner of a new Panther Cham

Best advice I give to new owners which you seem to have a real good start.... Pothos (devils ivy) really helps with the humidity and lots of different feeders for nutrition and to prevent boredom. I am a big fan of Black soldier flies. Buy the larvae. I get 1000 - 2000 at a time and keep...

    chameleon memory

I am guessing not very smart. They seam to be all instinct. Since wondering could get them into a fight with another cham, or eaten by a predator, they are programmed to find a familiar spot and stay there to avoid wondering. They are programmed to hold still when scared and then hiss and/or...
