I have been misting more frequently to keep the humidity up...it's a little bit of a struggle but it's usually between 60-70 except for early morning (it was below 50 this morning). So far, after we put up the sheet, I have been able to maintain right around 80-81 at the warmest part of her...
Hi! Any tips for regulating the heat during the brutal freezing temps that have struck the southern US these last few days? I have a heater in my room, but it just can't keep up. (Temps rise to about 75 and that's it). My mom did put up a sheet blocking my door to trap the heat in my room a...
Some owners have a plastic sheeting around three sides of the enclosure...helps hold in humidity and heat from your heating source. Our temp drops some when misted, but recovers very quickly. (We have not added anything to the enclosure.)
@jannb I took it out immediately! I guess we will figure out how to take that middle thing out and replace it with something more Izzie-friendly! I have seen this same plant in a lot of cages posted on the forum. Maybe Izzie is just being mischievous today. :D
Her safety is most important, so...
I have a question...see the center fiber thingy? (This is not my plant, but I have one just like it). Izzie had some of the fiber stuff in her mouth. Not sure what she was doing, maybe just drinking some water from the leaves or maybe going after a renegade cricket that has somehow managed to...
Update on Izzie....
She is eating 5-6 medium phoenix worms a day and I have given her a few wax worms since Wednesday as a treat (I know not to feed them very often). She seems very interested in her new food...but I am wondering for a 6 month old juvenile if that is enough food? Seems like a...
I thought she was still young enough to eat (within reason) of what she consumed in a 10-15 minute window twice a day?? I just know one or two crickets is not nearly enough compared to her normal appetite. :(
Hello! I am hoping Izzie is just bored with her food and not getting sick....She has always had a HUGE appetite and enjoyed hunting for her meals. The last 3 days she has only eaten maybe 5 crickets the entire day. So far today she has only eaten one larger cricket. (Usually she will eat 5/6 in...
Izzie just had her second shed (since being with me) a few days ago. (She is about 14 weeks now). I noticed last night this brown spot on belly. She had a small one previously on her tail, but it disappeared after her shed. Any idea what it could be? It's almost like she laid again something and...
As of 7:45-bedtime ...she is about half way through. She has been rubbing against her leaves and branches to get the dead skin off. Once it's off her eyes all the way I will relax...lol.
Izzie's first shed with me (4 weeks ago I think) was a total body-all done in one day-thing. Now she has started shedding again...this time it's taking A LOT longer and so far it's just her head and legs and tail. I can't see any indication she will shed on her back/belly etc. as of right now...
