My chameleon HATES his misting system.. what can I change?

So Ive got a Jewelspray misting system. It is set to a timer and goes off 6 times a day for 30 seconds. I have two chameleons connected to this. One is fine with it, and starts drinking as soon as it turns on. He moves out of the way when the mister is in his face. But the other one has a...

    What are these called?

Yes, they are illegal in most of europe because they are a pest and could eat crops and become a plague, if i understand it correclty. You never see them on reptile expos either. Such a shame, as they are very good feeders lol.

Help in caring for silkworms - they won't move to fresh food

So I finally got my hands on some silkworm eggs - 500 eggs in total. Three days ago they ALL hatched. I have so many now lol. They are very tiny. I put fresh chow (mulberry leaf paste) in the containter and they all climbed on it and started munching. However, after one day, the chow gets dried...

My panther chameleon is vomiting/regurgitating his food

I am pretty sure he is pooping. I cant always find his poop, but today I saw sperm plugs (they only come out when pooping right?) There is no substrate in the cage itself, only in the plant pot. It is filled with just regular potting soil, no perlite and I dont think theres any fertiliser. The...

Is there anything I can improve about my nutrient scheme? My panther chameleon is vomiting/regurgitating his food

sadly, I just saw some vomit again.. I really don't understand why this is happening. Today he mis-shot his food bowl multiple times, which is worrysome. Even stranger: the vomit consisted of only crickets. Lately I have been feeding him more varietie (wax moths, grasshoppers) and those were...

My panther chameleon is vomiting/regurgitating his food

So just wanna give an update, in case anyone ever has a vomting cham themselves. He hasn't vomited after friday last week (when I made this post) And he still eats everything and shoots his crickets accurately. I gave him cat food for 2 days but he hated it and I felt bad, so I switched to...

Do you guys think these silkworm eggs are still viable?

Yeahh I figured they'd be dead or dehydrated lol.. theyve been out for 3 days I think, so not long enough for them to be hatching. Might have been even longer fridge time than 6 months  Ill just keep them out, who knows maybe a few will hatch. In the mean time I guess I'll hunt for some...

Do you guys think these silkworm eggs are still viable?

So ive had moderate success breeding silkworms in the past. most worms die before reaching adulthood, eventually ended up with about 20 moths and then loooaads of eggs. Didn't try breeding them again as it was quite finnicky. But I kept the eggs in the fridge. probably for longer than 6 months...

New to chameleons and took pet shop advice?? Now I'm worried! Can anybody help or guide me from here?

I'd get rid of the wood chips on the bottom. he can accidentaly eat them and get impacted. You could add some more climbing plants to cover up the space in your terrarium, like ficus or pothos, those are quite strong and climbable plants. maybe some horizontal branches (bamboo) so he can move...

My panther chameleon is vomiting/regurgitating his food

Thanks guys! The most important thing was to not feed him hard chitinous things. The food I was told to get is Royal canine convalescence support. does not have vitamin A as far as I can tell. I could try blending some insects (poor bastards) This morning I gave him a grasshopper (I shoudnt have...

My panther chameleon is vomiting/regurgitating his food

welp went to the vet today.I don't think he has vomited in the past few days, so thats good! he also did not eat a whole lot, however. But: Its likely not caused by kidney failure, as he still shoots his crickets accurate and does not have swollen joints or ankles. Its not constipation because...

    Help!!! Chameleon Found!!!

Wow, so sad someone would leave a chameleon like that.. :( The white butt stuff could be sperm plugs, they come out when males poop and sometimes get stuck on their butts for a bit. I would buys some big plants, like a ficus, so he has some comfortable branches to chill on. Good luck!
