A new cage - critique me

I have increased the temperature somewhat since taking these pictures from about a month ago of the basking spot and the mid point temperature on the opposite side of the cage. Basking spot now runs around 88F average. and the mid point now is around 72F, with a temp drop to 65F @ night...

A new cage - critique me

Nick, thanks for the suggestion ;), I had a feeling that was one of the reasons he was doing the Jungle Gym upside down routine. I'll wrap some more fake vines in that area in a variety of heights and see if that improves the behavior.

A new cage - critique me

It's the ExoTerra 36" hood, got it through LLR Reptile when they had a sale last month for $49.99 including shipping, they tend to normally go for $99 plus shipping http://www.lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/light-fixtures/-/exo-terra-compact-fluorescent-terrarium-canopy-36/...

A new cage - critique me

Finally getting close with a new (larger) cage set up. I have had "Pretty Boy Floyd" since the first week of May and he is now 5.5 months old. He has been steadily growing and caught him shedding three weeks back. He eats very well, dusted crickets (without D3) each feeding and with D3...

Newbie Nervous Nelly ... or something I should adress

A quick update of today's proceedings :) A much better day for (me for sure lol) and him. Blocking off direct view from his perch to mine looks like it did the trick. He was roaming around much more, actively hunted and ate when fed in the morning 5 small crickets.... Saw him drink...

    Other Reptile Species?

Besides my (just acquired Panther baby) we have three (2 female + 1 Male) New Caledonian Crested Geckos. AKA eye lash Gecko's. Super cute but not at all active during the daytime I am afraid. Activity starts at dusk and goes on all night long LOL They are very tame during the day when...

Newbie Nervous Nelly ... or something I should adress

Trace, The breeder guaranteed this to be a male, marked as a male and sold as a male, when I took this pics he was quite toned down for sure. I have seen him brighten up with the Blue colors of the Sire and much more defined bars and the White lateral line coming through. Not seen any...

Newbie Nervous Nelly ... or something I should adress

Modernjamie: Much appreciate the assist and additional comments.... Glad to hear there was some "eye closure" here and there and I am not the only one out there..... I have been considering going to live plants right away but took the easy way out.... Will stop by the local nursery...

Newbie Nervous Nelly ... or something I should adress

Thanks for the very fast replies and letting me settle down a bit. JuJu: Your observations make sense as he can indeed see me sitting in front of the computer, especially when he needs to get himself under the UVB lights. So perhaps I am stressing him out more than I stress myself out...

First off a quick hello. I have been lurking around for many months and finally decided to become a member (not to hip on posting on forums in general). But very much appreciated all the excellent info I have found to-date and the many helpful threads throughout. I have had a Veiled...
