Those lights should be good for that cage size. I'm using the same size UVB bulb and a 100watt heat lamp for a 2'x2'x4' cage and it works just fine.

It may have something to do with the frequency he sees you in the uniform. I know that my cham will get upset if he sees my sister in certain brightly colored shirts as well, so fashion sense could be a factor too ;)
