I was wondering about my feeding. The crickets are "large" from the store, but they really are not that big. They are nickel sized (not as round as a nickel obviously).
First I would like to apologize for not being on here in a while. I do not have my own internet, so it makes it difficult to find time to use someone else's and to get on with my phone eats my data. That being said;
Piccolo has been doing great. He is still doing great, but it seems like...
Ugh I have a huge gnat problem! I know what to do to get rid of them, but I wanted to vent about it. I have no money to get sand or the plant carpet stuff so for now I am using a hand vacuum to suck them up and release them outside. Everytime I come back inside it seems like there are more. I...
I got mine from petsmart. There was a lady that worked there (I haven't seen her in a long time so I don't know if she still does) that took really good care of two chameleons they had together (a male and female both were around four months. It's a corporate store so you can't expect any...
So my camera on my phone really sucks, but trust me when I say there is a HUGE difference.
Before- compact natural light bulb for chameleons, compact UVB, basking bulb (not a very high watt because I had a smaller enclosure).
Light only made it to half way down the enclosure...
While it may be true that this is where they live in the wild, if they have been generationally bred in a different environment then a drastic drop in temperature will cause stress. If she is taken outside in this temperature then it should not be for long.
I know with females if you do not want them laying eggs so much then you may lower the basking temperature slightly.
I'm worried that when she went to dig around and then came back up and there were no eggs, that they might be stuck and in turn causing poo to get stuck. If she doesn't poop...
Just to let you know (because I didn't realize until I got them in) the t5 bulbs are super skinny. I'm talking less than an inch in diameter. My enclosure is 24" x 24" x 48". I am very glad that I got the quad. I just set them up last night and the light came on this morning and it is SO much...
Too much distiller water can kill a human so I would be careful of that. And it's not always the case if you can drink it then so can your cham. We can tolerate higher amounts of things in the water. Chlorine for example which was what this post was initially about.
He is about 1 year old.
I was more thinking 300 crickets because they would last me a month. I might just go ahead and order the 500 -_-
I thought about trying Dubia Roaches.
I was also thinking that they might be too big for your chameleon. One time my boy ate something before I could finish preparing it for him and it was too big. He kept his mouth open and made movements to try to swallow it. After a short while it went down. It was so nerve wracking it felt like...
