after a long winter gus is finally out getting some rays today:cool: he's a little fired up after me taking him out of his cage. His outdoor cage is still under construction so this hand rail will have to do for now :) he's only 8 months but showing some pretty nice color ( the best I could...

    stinkbugs- open top enclosure

I have a plastic lip around the top of the enclosure to allow light to get in and prevent him or insects from escaping. Also I've done a little looking around on this subject. I found this in an older thread: "As a chemist, I have checked on the web to see the chemical composition, and...

    stinkbugs- open top enclosure

This has happened to me before. I had one crawling on me in the middle of the night and I went to get it off and got "stinked" it left a small burn and red welt for few days. I'm just wondering about the safety off chams eating them. He did seem to enjoy it. He ate it so quick I didn't have time...

    nosy be- very dark.. Help

Yea I guess you can say he spends a lot of time basking, I've made several adjustments to his basking spot, trying to see if that might be the problem, and he seems to like where it's at now. I say that because he used to always climb the top screen, it seemed he was trying to get closer to the...

    stinkbugs- open top enclosure

Im sure many of you are dealing with the same thing but we have stink bugs in our home like crazy. I keep an open top enclosure for my cham for unfiltered uvb. Earlier I went in there and witnessed him eat a stink bug that was inside the top of his cage. If I had to guess, I would say that this...

    Have you ever....

Got home from work and your poor chameleons heat lamp was blown, for god knows how long, leaving your poor little guy in the cold?:( (it's actually 67 in his room but you know what I mean) poor little Gus wasn't too happy with me today. Hopefully he forgives me

    Question about shedding

Quick question about my chameleons last shed. He shed his whole body about a week ago but still has a little patch of skin stuck to his nostril that doesnt seem to want to come off. Is there any negative health effects to this? Should I try to physically remove it or just leave it alone? I know...

    larger food=more interest?

I have 6 month old panther. He's rather shy, doesn't like me in his enclosure too often, runs away from me, that kind of thing. He doesn't make very sudden movements at all when I'm in his cage trying to feed him, unless…. its for larger prey. Most feeders I offer he will run to the back of his...

    Mold in cage

The pot is plastic so that shouldn't be a big deal but unfortunately the branch is rather large and pretty much the center piece with many vines wrapped around it so its going to to some undoing:(. Ohh The things we do for our chams well being :) Like you said I'm leaning toward repotting all...

    Mold in cage

I was just doing some cleaning of my chams cage, dead leaves, poop, etc when I moved a potted plant and I found a large clump of mold growing on one of the natural branches behind the pot. What is the recommended way to remove mold/prevent it from happening again. He has a large plant box in the...

    Dubia Roaches vs Mealworms

This is why with dubias, I put them on the screen and don't take my eyes off them until they're eaten. If my gf ever saw one of these, it probably wouldn't end well, never mind it crawling on her.

    eating dirt..good or bad?

Ive read a few different ideas on this. Ive read its part of their natural diet and its not really harmful and Ive also read that it should be avoided. Im asking now because today I saw my panther chameleon eat some organic soil I have in one of his potted plants. Im leaning toward getting some...

    Walking sticks

Lol he seemed to enjoy it. Why do you say that? Is the nutritional value not so great?

    Walking sticks

Was able to get my hands on some Vietnamese walking stick bugs. Do any of you guys keep these? Apparently they reproduce asexually rather quickly, seems like a good feeder to keep. Anyone have any experience with these? Gutloading, food, etc.
