    Handling

I know that a lot of people ask about handling chameleons, and I've been reading up on a lot of different situations and when/how it's best to handle chameleons, but none exactly fit my chameleon. Sebastian is about 1 3/4 years old and I've had him for 11 months. He's always been shy, and it...

    Is he okay?

Thank you for your help, jajeanpierre! Sebastian looked a little bit better around 3pm but was still in the back corner... also, he was asleep a few minutes ago and his eyes were nearly flush with the sides of his head! The dripper is still there for him, and I carefully put a few wax worms (his...

    Is he okay?

As I was taking this picture a few minutes ago he opened his eyes... and I think this is a better portrayal of the shape of his eyes when they are open.

    Is he okay?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm over reacting or being adequately cautious... my year-ish old male panther chameleon, Sebastian, has been acting out of sorts. He skipped a meal this weekend and the edges of his eyes seemed darker. He's been retreating to his sleepy spot more often and hanging...

    Orange pee

I was at school all week so I couldn't sit by him throughout the day... I'll increase the length of the spraying. So until the results come back from a future second test there's nothing else I can do, right?

    Orange pee

I know orange and yellow means dehydrated, and that is very bad. Up until a two weeks ago, Sebastian was perfectly healthy and never had any problems (previous parasite tests were always negative). He is about a year old, and a few weeks ago he was looking a bit dehydrated (semi-sunken eyes). I...

How do you check for parasites???

I bring fresh (within 24 hours, refrigerated) stool samples to the vet and they do a few different tests. Results are usually back within a day or so. Hope this helps!

I put down paper at the bottom of the cage so that I can find fresh poop for the vet. I'll let you guys know what color it is.

    HELP!!!

Sebastian has been licking the wet leaves all evening and has been standing in front of the dripper. His eyes look good and haven't gotten all sunken in again. Unless he looks good all throughout the day tomorrow should I take him to the vet to get checked (again) for parasites?

    HELP!!!

He has been drinking for several minutes now... do you think it is the dry winter air and heating that dehydrated him or could he have parasites?

    HELP!!!

Nothing in his environment changed.... Sebastian was looking much much better this morning, but throughout the day he must have gotten worse again because when I came home from school his eyes were sunken and he wasn't interested in dinner. I'll make an appointment with a vet.... but what can...

    HELP!!!

Sebastian is on the move now, he is coming towards the center of his cage! It looks like he's headed up to his basking spot. I didn't see him drink but maybe he did and it helped? I'm still worried because his eyes look a tiny bit sunken still...

    HELP!!!

Thank you! I put food in his reach but he's ignoring it. His colors are normal and bright... its his eyes that are a bit dark and a little sunken. He doesn't seem to want to leave that branch, but I don't know why. He isn't really close to the heat lamp now and he's sort of sheltered by the...

    HELP!!!

Sebastian kept trying to eat the dripper's spout... so I arranged it that the water drips down by his head but he can't see the spout thing. And does this mean he is hungry?

    HELP!!!

Sebastian's eyes are dark and sunken and he is hanging out in a corner. There aren't any plant leaves for me to spray right in front of him because he is behind all of the plants, so I'm working on making a dripper to set up right in front of him in case he is dehydrated.... What should I do...

    Next step?

My male panther chameleon has been trusting me more and more lately, and when I leave the door to his cage open long enough and have enough worms on a branch outside of his cage he will come out for a 10ish minutes or as long as it takes to eat the worms!!!! This is a huge step, and I'm very...

    Airplane?

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge! I hadn't even thought of the repercussions of airline incompetence in handling... I need some time to mull this all over and talk to my family, but I feel much more educated now and think that whatever we decide it will indeed be best for Sebastian. I...

    Airplane?

Okay, I realize there are a ton of legal complications to navigate through and costs too, but right now my biggest concern before I even continue to start sifting through airline policies is if Sebastian would be safe. I appreciate your help with all of the different people I have to contact and...

    Airplane?

Thank you so much everyone! This is definitely going to be much harder than I thought and I'll do as much research as I can, although it seems like for a 17 hour flight headed towards a strict import policy I might have to find him a new home. If I do find a way to legally bring Sebastian on...
