Didn't see the post about the bulb but yeah, I would get rid of that too. Chams can pop their eyes out of the socket though so it might be normal. Just a little bit freaky looking.:D
Usually if they have their mouth open a lot they are too hot. I don't know much about Jacksons so I will let someone else comment on vitamins and calcium. I think they don't need as much as veileds and panthers and such.
Yeah, I was pretty much convinced it was a female before but it kept getting more colorful and sometimes I would think I would see a bulge and sometimes I wouldn't. Now I am seeing it more and more it seems.
Yes she was. I was thinking they looked that way to me too.
edit: She was bred but they didn't really mate for very long. Not nearly as long as they did the first time they bred. I put them together a couple of times but it was over very quickly and they went there separate ways.
Hi everyone. My female veiled just layed here second clutch of eggs last night. They seem really small to me but it could just be because I am used to the size the others were right before they hatched. Just curious if someone has a picture with some sort of size comparison of some newly...
I had been avoiding making a batch of wet gutload due to worrying about most of it wasting. I never thought about freezing it. I just mixed up a batch and put it in some cool looking outerspace and fruit shaped ice cube trays. The kids kept asking me what I was doing so I told them I was...
Frankly to me most of the time the natural colors look better on chams than the morphs. I do like the veileds with more yellow and blue though. The translucents just look sick to me and that one with more black doesn't look much better.
I was in a pet store once and got to talking about...
Hi Chamillonaire,
I see you are in Nashville. Did that cham come from Aquatic Critter? It looks kinda like one they had and I noticed it is gone the other day.
I have a male and female veiled both in 24"x24"x48" cages and the female uses much more of here space than the male does. The male pretty much parks it in one place all day while the female will move around a little. The male is a lot more nervous as well.
I only have potted plants in my veiled enclosures purely because it is easier for me to clean due to the large amount of waste they produce. I recently made a pygmy enclosure and it well planted with soil. I would think if you want to have soil for other chams you just need to keep an eye on...
