No bright coloured cloths. No glasses as they can reflect back at your cham. Move very very slowly and be very very patient. I used to place a wax worm in the palm of my hand the first few time. He would eventually eat it, after it had rolled off many times. But now hes fine, loves human...
Mines 9 times out of 10 will poop in the same place and is very regular. His lights go on at 7.50 and by 8.20 hes pooped :) I have time to clean it up before i start work.
My Yem is a nutter. His house is in the living room next to the sofa and sometimes i have to make sure i dont make eye contact with him. If he notices me he makes a bee line for the bottom of the door and scratches to come out. He definitely does recognise me.
If you go for the older Veiled make sure you've seen him and handled him.
If your unsure go for a younger one. Such fun watching them grow and they do recognise their owners, that is for sure.
A stick ? lol :)
Mine hates my camera phone, but i think its the reflection.
I will get some footage, and you are right it is silly. Hopefully il get it uploaded next week.
Well he sure looks happy and healthy. Mines just over a year and i have to say does look a bit bigger. I believe you can have a runt. My first Veiled i got from a breeder died within two weeks he was 2 months old and tiny, i spoke to the breeder who came round with another Cham from the same...
Just thought id share this one with you.
My Veiled is just over a year old, hes a very happy little chap, very friendly indeed. When he comes out he walks on my hands, down my leg and walks around the living room floor. Now when he spots the Gold Fish he lays flat, his colours go very dark and...
They are very strange animals. Mine hates my camera, if i try and take a pic or vid clip he flares right up. I must be the reflection of my camera that freaks him out.

Also use G4 paint sealer for the wood
Hope this helps.
Mine used to flinch when i put my hand in his cage and he used to flare up when he saw mother in law, but we now know that was because of the reflection from her glasses. Or maybe it was just because she was the mother in law :)
Baby steps is the way, little and often. The more he knows you...
They are, as you know sensitive animals. Me personally i would make sure there is someone who can come round to feed and mist him at least once a day, twice a day preferably.
Also i wouldn't be keen on the idea of leaving a few days worth of food in the enclosure but that's just me.
Is there...
It "should" be ok. As long as someone comes in and Sunday to mist and feed him.
I went away for a week and fortunately mother in law popped in to mist mine in the morning and afternoon, she did poo patrol and feed him, she got him out and handled him OK. Problem was when i got back he was in a...
Well i have a hand mister which i mist him twice a day and if the humidity drops to low or hes shedding i have a repti fogger. Works great my cham will sometimes move under the stream of fog when he sees it on.
When the fogger is on the humidity ramps up to over 90% at the bottom of the viv and...

Im currently writing a website for Chameleons and i have to say i have been doing extensive research via Goolgle, Wiki, Books Reptile Shows etc and you will find...
