    Eye Problems

Thanks Melissa. I am fairly certain there is nothing in her eye, but I appreciate your concern and your advice. Where in Illinois are you? I am from Waukegan, at the very top of the map on the state line with Wisconsin.

    Eye Problems

Thanks Ataraxia, but it seems you may have mis-read my post. I do change up the gut loading. I think I even listed about 5 or6 veggies andfruits Igive the crickets as well as the Flukers products. It never ceases to amaze me how defensiveand almost combatitive some people get about their brand...

    Itchy face?

Hi Anniel. Yes your cham may be finishing off his shed. The face seems to take a bit longer than the rest of the body, so this rubbing against sticks, which is by the way the method chameleons use, will go on for a while after the other shedding seems to be done.

    Did You Know?

Not all chameleons are hatched from eggs! Jackson Chameleons, also known as Three Horned Chameleons carry their young to live birth with 6-30 babies born in a clutch after a 5-6 month gestation period. The sub-species, Dwarf Jackson's Chameleon gives birth to only 5-10 young. All other...

Comment by 'Daddio53' in media 'drip recover'

Look closely and you will see two yellow arrows. One points to the tip of the water dripping tube and the other to the "drip recovery unit" Doesn't that sound official? The "unit" is a pint Mason Jar with panty hose over the top and the Mason Jar top screwed over the hosiery. This catches all of...

Littlefoot loves to freerange. She will come to the end of a branch that comes right to the door, and then she will either just sit there and wait, or she will scratch at the door as if to knock. As soon as the door comes open she's trying to get out. I hook a vine from a Pothos plant that hangs...

    Eye Problems

Just Please Answer This Part So I am wondering if there are eye problems, other than scratching herself possibly, that commonly affect chameleons eye health, and then what I need to do about it. Today I got her out of the enclosure and dabbed gently at her eye (exterior eyelid) with a paper...

I can't tell if my veiled cham is gravid.

I have a female who I wrote about a little bit ago today about "Eye Problems". She has a unique problem in that she's been laying eggs about every month to 6 weeks since I got her 7 months ago. That's insane. I will say one thing though, she always loses her appetite just before, and she gets...

    Eye Problems

Littlefoot is a female Dwarf Fishers, about 1 yr 6mo -1 yr 9 mo (former "owners" unsure) I've had her for just over 7 months. She comes out of her enclosure at her request, she claws at the opening. I attach a vine to the opening and she climbs out. I have a parachute cord "trail" for her that...

I came out one morning and my little female Dwarf Fischer's Chameleon was fully involved in a shedding of her entire being.

How should I build apollos new cage!?

Lookin Good I see you have a Little Dripper. Where do you have the water dripping to? Many people let it drip right into a plant, but after a little while that plant will be water logged and the water will overflow from the plant dish. You surely don't want a collection of water in an open jar...

How should I build apollos new cage!?

Where do you live? First and foremost. I already see a lot of people saying to just put some screen where the door panels are now. This is great if you live in a naturally humid place. If however your relative humidity is only 10-20% on an average day, then the screen probably won't do. Many...
