    Chams wont eat!

Hi all...I have 2 chams, a panther and a veiled. They are almost 2 years old now. I have been trying to give them variety with feeders, but they are now on a total food strike. The will ONLY eat superworms. They also like hornworms, but I can't get those all the time. I have a dubia colony...

    Hornworms into pupa

Hi...was just wondering if anyone knew if you have to keep your hornworms in dirt so they will turn into a pupa? Will they just do it when they are ready regardless of what kind of substrate they are in, or is dirt required. thank you Caroline

Only poops in the sun :S

Hi...so just throwing this out there. My panther apparently will only poop when I put him in his outside cage, when the sun is on him. In his normal indoor cage, nothing happens. And I can't get him outside all the time, cause its been cold lately. Is this normal? He has all kinds of lights...

    Panther colors

As for his age, he is about 8 months old. So those bright reds we see are them getting mad? Ahhh....I thought those were the natural colors. Well he never gets mad apparently then. :) I have tried showing him his reflection, but he is not interested. Guess I'll leave well enough alone...

    Panther colors

Hi...so I keep seeing all these great photos of brilliant colored panthers. My guy should be full of red/orange and blue. But, he never shows those colors. How do you get them to show off their coloration? When he sleeps, his colors brighten up...but during the day he is just green mainly...

    Veiled care vs Panther care

Hi...I have a veiled cham and a panther cham. I had read that their needs were the same, in regards to heat/humidity/enclosures. My boys are in identical cage setups, with an auto mister/raindome, a light hood with a UV 5.0 bulb, and grow light for the pothos and a 100watt incandescent for...

    Tree of choice

So how do you keep those plants alive inside? I have my repitsun 5.0, and the plants don't like it...they all die. :( I don't have room to add yet another light, on top of the basking light. Can I use a stronger UV bulb?

    Fruit fly cultures

Hi...I have been making my own cultures now since May. Was wondering, when the culture is done, can I just reuse the container and lid? I would think if you wash out the container well it's fine but was not sure about the lid. Can that be cleaned off as well to be reused? Thanks, Caroline

    Meet Sparky!

I was able to get a beautiful panther at the San Diego Super Show this weekend. I have named him Sparky. He is from Kammers, and his sire is Red Destiny. He is already beautiful, and I think he is only 4 months or so old. Can't wait to get him in his new forever cage. Will post pics once...

    question on basking

So...if my cham is sitting under his basking lamp, and it is too hot for him to handle, won't he just move away from it to cool off?

    Wood/stain/sealant for cage building?

My husband is building me 2 cages right now, out of poplar. We are going to stain it with an outside weather proof stain. Hope it dries and is fume free by tomorrow, as I plan to get a cham at the reptile show here in San Diego.

How do you have your feeder cups set up?

I use a short deli cup, with a wood dowel glued on to the bottom in the middle. I then took another deli cup, and cut off the bottom so it was just a ring. I attached the ring to the door of my cage. The main cup can be lifted out and cleaned and put back into the ring. That way I can open the...
