    Right so I just got the Uv reader from the list above...at the moment I cannot afford the solameter . I am getting readings of around 0.3 from about 4 inches below the UVB tube (Arcadia 10%) .. I will be testing the outdoor enclosures tomorrow. What do you guys think?

    Thanks for the replies . In fact that's what I would like to test..if there if enough UVB in the cages without the lights.. What would be an acceptable - (meaning enough UVB ) reading on the meter?

    Hi everyone, Just put my cages out side in my backyard, which is very shady..the placement the cages are in, only gets a very narrow edge of sun for maybe an hour of the day which is good as want to prevent overheating. I control the heat with a heatlamp and wasn't intending on using uv...

    Common chameleon after 13 months in my care.. He has been outdoors for most of the summer in a spot where th suns hits for about 3 hours of the day, part of the cage is constantly shaded ... He is very plump compared to the ones seen in the Wild here and is fed slightly less than recommended...

    Quite a few. Malta is very small so don't need to travel much at all ..check out one of my threads called Night Hike. We saw close to 40 in about 3 hours!
